2006 UMB World Cup Sluiskil
After a succesfull first event in 2005, the world's 3-cushion elite headed towards Sluiskil for the first World Cup of 2006.
It was Dick Jaspers who won the tournament, and prolonged his winning streak in Sluiskil.
After beating Kobayashi, Tasdemir and fellow dutchman John Thijssens. Dick Jaspers reached the final 4 quite comfortably.
In the semi-final, Jaspers won 3-1 against Dani Sanchez and fininshed the 4th seth with a great run of 9.
In the final it was the Turkish surpise Adnad Yuksel(who entered the main event as a lucky loser)
The final match was a breathtaking thriller; Finally it was Jaspers who beat Yuksel 3-2. Despite missing 2 matchball earlier in the match, it was the Dutchman who finally made his winning point in the 5th set (after 3 attempts)
Another great win for Dick Jaspers, who won his 14th World Cup title in his great career.
The 2006 World Cup has been played on the Gabriels Imperator Dianite table.
