2006 World Straightpool Championship

In 2006, Dragon Promotions organised the very first World Straight Pool Championship.
This event can be seen as the resurrection as of the World Championship 14.1 Straight Pool.
In order to restore the games popularity in teh United States, Gabriels decided to team up with Dragon Promotion, and we supplied our Signature Pro pool tables for this event.

Held in East Brunswick, New Jersey a field of 64 players battled for the title, including several Hall of Fame inductees, and crowned World champions in straight pool form the past.

The 2006 tournamet was won by Thorsten Hohmann, who beat Thomas Engert in an all German Final. Mika Immonen (Fin) and Max Eberle (US) capped the bronze medal.

Also in 2007 and 2008 the event was an european affair. Oliver Ortmann(Ger) beat Hudji See(NL) in the final in 2007. While Dutchman Niels Feijen came out victorious in the 2008 final against Phillipino Franciso Bustamente.
