Team Turkey win in Viersen

Team Turkey, with Tayfun Tasdemir and Lufti Cenet, have managed to defend their title during the world cup for teams. In the Festhalle in Viersen, the Turks wins over team Belgium (Eddy Merckx and Eddy Leppens as representatives) in the final.

It was Lufti Cenet who gave the victory to Turkey. He won his game in ''straight sets'' against Eddy Leppens, 3-0. On the other table, Eddy Merckx was on lead, but Tayfun Tasdemir grabbed one set and the victory was for Turkey.

Turkey played a fantastic tournament. In the first round they eliminated Peru and Vietnam. In the next round the Turks left the Spanish team behind ( Great victory of Tasdemir against Sanchez) and in the semi finals Turkey defeated host Germany.
