The mega-tournament in Brandenburg, Germany has been the focus of the entire billiard community in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019.
Rather than spread individual and team championships in the free game, 1-cushion, 3-cushion, balkline, artistic billiards and 5-pins all over Europe, the CEB decided in 2013 to bring them all together and make Brandenburg the center of the billiard world for two weeks. In 2021, this mega-tournament and its super-format will move to Turkey.
Gabriels has helped turn these European Championships into a success, and the list of historic matches played in the Brandenburger Stahlpalast is long. Perhaps the most historic 3-cushion encounter of all time, played on a Gabriels table, is the 2013 EC semifinal between Marco Zanetti and Frédéric Caudron. The Belgian equaled the world record high run (28) but the Italian won the match: 40 – 37 in 12 (11) innings.
